Green Education Column and Europe

As Green Education Column directors, we have been working together to strengthen our position in Europe. Collaboratively, a project has been started to profile ourselves as the leading Green Knowledge organisation in the Netherlands. These steps mainly concern the knowledge development contribution regarding grand societal challenges. We expect to exert an influence on policy, but above all, hope to be seen as an interesting organisation that can contribute to European issues. Our strength lies in our contribution of subject-specific knowledge and the tripartite in the region as a solid knowledge column. In the future, Green Education hopes to more easily tap into financial sources. To achieve this, the directors have worked on curating a story, as well as matching propositions and strategies for lobbying. At the moment, the strategy is colored in more specifically on the basis of the chosen themes, ambitions, and strengths of the participating educational institutions. This is being achieved by working together with consultants and lobbyists who know Brussels well. The strategy will be adopted in January. This process is continuous and depends on involving and monitoring developments in Brussels. Preliminary steps include a planned meeting for Brussels in February. This meeting will focus on planning the lobby and positioning process, as well as further strengthening cooperation in the Green Column.
